Bring these items to church each month througout the year. Use this as a guide or just bring any item any time of the year. Remember, boxes are packed in early November!
January: Crafts & Activities: dry watercolor sets, craft kits, colorful rope/twine, jump ropes, play dough, stickers, books, silly putty
February: Games: deck of cards, travel size checkers/tic-tac-toe, hacky sacks, matching card games, jacks, marbles, pegboard games, pick-up sticks, puzzles, sports balls, dominoes
March: Accessories: bandanas, hats, flip-flops, watches, necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses, small bags/backpack/purses, hair ties/bows, headbands, scarfs, gloves
April: Personal Care Items: bar soap, soap holders, washclothes, toothbrushes (no toothpaste), flossers, toothbrush covers, combs, brushes, nail clippers, nail files, fun adhesive bandages, eating utensils, straws, small plastic cup/plate, chapstick
May: Toys: balls (bouncy, light up, foam, etc), frisbees, building blocks, yo-yos, toy cars, slinky toys, small toy figures (nothing war related), finger puppets, toy trains, small lego set
June: Journal & Drawing Supplies: chalkboards, chalk, journals, notebooks, colorful pencils or pens, crayons, coloring books, small etch-a-sketch, small dry erase board with dry erase markers
July: "WOW" Items: something that can go in each box that might really be special to a child: deflated soccer ball and pump (or other balls, too), stuffed animal, doll, musical instrument (harmonica/shaker/toy flute), large toy truck or car, other large toy that will fit in the box
August: School Supplies: pencils, pens, notebooks, pencil bags/boxes, erasers, pencial sharpener, markers, crayons, index cards, solar powered calculator, safety scissors, ruler, glue stick small adhesive tape, post-it notes, highlighters
September: Cool Extra items: small flashlights, compasses, binoculars, fishing kits, magnifying glass, small tool set, small telescoping fishing rod
October: Clothing: t-shirts, socks, undergarments, cold weather items, stretchy lightweight dresses, shorts, small space-saving blankets
November: Get ready to pack shoeboxes! Shoeboxes must be sent out by mid-November so this is packing time.
December: Enjoy Christmas with your family. Share the Christmas story and pray that God would work in the communities our shoeboxes will be reaching so that they can have a little joy this season and possibly meet Jesus this year.
